Bethlehem, Pa, October 5, 2015We don't just pick game-changers, we create them. Moravian College was ranked 35 out of 1,182 colleges and universities nationwide for graduate outcomes by Educate to Career, Inc., a California-based nonprofit, in its annual , which measures the employability, earnings, and career-preparedness of our graduates. Our position makes us the top-ranked institution in the Lehigh Valley and second best in the state of Pennsylvaniaone of only three ranked in the top 50 statewide.
We are extremely pleased that Educate To Career has identified Moravian College among the very best colleges and universities in the country for workforce preparedness, improvement in earnings, and employ-ability, said Bryon L. Grigsby '90, president of Moravian College and Moravian Theological Seminary. It is a testament to the power of the liberal arts and the transformational education we provide to our students that emphasizes critical thinking, analytic reasoning, problem-solving, and effective communication."
"The ranking is also reflective of our outstanding faculty and the close personal attention they give our students,"Grigsby continued. "They mentor students, collaborate on research together, and help them network through world-class internships. The faculty consistently demonstrate their investment in the success of our students both in the classroom and after graduation."
According to Michael R. Havis, president and founder of Careers to Educate, With our outcome-focused methodology, the Index empirically determines the economic value added by each of the colleges ranked within our system. Users of the Index will recognize that schools providing a practical education for a reasonable tuition-rate are highly ranked. .
The ETC Index is unique in that it does not rate schools by the quality of the students, which is a common method for college rankings systems. Havis further explains, Essentially, in other rankings systems, SAT scores are frequently used as a proxy for college quality. Many brand-name colleges are better at picking winners than they are at creating them, whereas our system rates colleges based upon their demonstrated ability to improve the earnings and employ-ability of students."
The ETC College Rankings Index is found on the , along with Educate To Careers other college and career planning tools. For more information, contact Michael R. Havis m.havis@educatetocareer.org (562) 248-6262.
