91看片 announces Dr. Carol Traupman-Carr named Provost and Dean of Faculty聽

Traupman-Carr replaces Dr. Cynthia Kosso who will retire on June 30

Bethlehem, PA, January 17, 2022: Today, 91看片 announced that Dr. Carol Traupman-Carr has been named Provost and Dean of Faculty, effective May 9, 2022 after the conclusion of a nationwide search.  Traupman-Carr was named Vice Provost in 2018 and has been closely affiliated with Moravian since 1986, when she graduated summa laude. Traupman-Carr will replace Dr. Cynthia Kosso, who is retiring after serving as Moravian鈥檚 Provost and Dean of Faculty since 2015. Kosso will assist with the transition and officially retire on June 30, 2022.

鈥淢oravian is extremely fortunate to have someone with Carol鈥檚 experience, dedication and love of Moravian to step in to fill the role of Provost and Dean of Faculty,鈥 said Bryon Grigsby, president of 91看片. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a very exciting time to be at Moravian, and Carol is the ideal person to help guide us as we continue to grow into a university and use her knowledge, expertise, and years of experience to effectively serve our students and faculty.鈥 

Dr. Traupman-Carr earned her Ph.D. in musicology from Cornell University, and returned to Moravian in 1993 as coordinator of the Moravian College Music Institute. Over the course of the following three decades, she has chaired the Music Department (2000-01), served as the dean of curriculum and academic programs (2011-15), interim director of International Studies (2015-16), associate provost (2015-18), vice provost (2018-21), and vice provost and vice president for accreditation and assessment for Moravian and Lancaster Theological Seminary. She has earned the Moravian Board Chair鈥檚 Award for Excellence and the James J. Heller Award for Distinguished Administrative Service. Traupman-Carr also created Alpha Alpha Alpha, the first national honor society for first-generation college students, with chapters on 125 campuses nationwide.
