Service-Learning
91¿´Æ¬ has a strong commitment to experiential learning as a pedagogical approach to a student’s education. As we consider all of the extraordinary ways that students can connect theory to practice, we must also include the opportunity to embed service learning into courses.
Service-learning allows students to connect with real world challenges, in real life settings, in real time. An effective service-learning course involves students in a meaningful, reciprocal community project combined with reflection to process the learning gained from field experiences. Civic Engagement staff are available to help you brainstorm incorporating service- learning experiences into your existing curriculum. Turn to the Center for:
- Logistical support
- Partnership introductions
- Support for faculty to engage across disciplines
- Resources
