Athletics and Recreation

The mission of the Department of Athletics and Recreation is to support the aims of the institution by providing varsity sports programs, intramural and recreational programs, and wellness activities for the various levels of interest and skill of the students within the University community. Moravian supports a broad range of physical activities intended for participation by the entire community, from the highly skilled, experienced athlete to the interested novice or casual spectator. The program offers opportunities in intercollegiate, intramural, and recreational competition. Schedules and information are available on the University athletics website, .

Intercollegiate athletics programs are offered for those students interested in organized competition at the varsity level. Moravian is a Division III (non-scholarship) member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Landmark Conference. The club sport program offers a variety of options based on student interest. Club sports are funded through the United Student Government (USG) and new club sports can be added by following the new club application process established by USG.

The intramural sports program provides competition among members of campus organizations, residence halls, and student groups. Intramural activities include volleyball, soccer, touch football, indoor soccer, floor hockey, softball, power lifting, dodge ball, and basketball. Other special programs are added to the schedule when a demonstrated interest exists.
