The InFocus Symposium will feature over fifty presentations from two different continents, five different states, and six different universities and colleges. The InFocus Symposium 20 is presented in memory of the late John V. Reynolds, professor of Political Science at Moravian College from 1979 through his death in January 2020.
Moravian Colleges Associate Dean of Students, Liz Yates, said normally they have 1,100 students living on campus, but right now, they have a little less than 50. She said theyve altered dining services to make sure students can still have food every day.
According to the Annual Report, Moravian College students completed 22,350 service hours at more than 65 different locations locally, across the country, and around the globe during the 2018-2019 academic year and 98% are currently employed or enrolled in post-graduate education.
St. Lukes University Health Network and Lehigh Valley Health Network have approached Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Moravian College, Muhlenberg College and Lehigh University about space for medical professionals to stay in if they need to self-quarantine or do not feel comfortable going home to their families after working with patients, the colleges confirmed.
Residence halls and dining facilities on all three campuses will remain open and students will have the opportunity to self-select where they choose to take their online classes, in their on-campus residence or at their homes.
